Wan Chai Development Blueprint Study 2.0
灣仔發展藍圖公民意向研究2.0
We developed and launched an online platform for community participation. By employing the "community consultation method" through surveys, community polls, topical online discussions, and face-to-face co-creation workshops, we engage and communicate with various stakeholders at different levels within the Wan Chai area. Our aim is to foster rational discussions and gather diverse stakeholder opinions for objective analysis, ultimately creating a blueprint for future development in Wan Chai. This approach allows us to investigate livelihood issues and explore how public facilities can be further refined within a "sustainable development model" and an "evidence-based" framework, facilitating discussions in the council to enhance resource utilization in future political dialogues, making them more relevant and focused.

The Swept Got Swop - Wan Chai rubbish and recycling space inventory cum co-learning project 灣仔換〔廢〕物誌 灣仔垃圾及回收空間盤點及共學計劃展覽
The “swept got swop” exhibition is part of the “Wan Chai rubbish and recycling space inventory and co-learning project” at the Hong Kong House of Stories. It analyzes recycling in Wan Chai through interactive methods and creates an inventory of recycling facilities. We aim to encourage wise use of community assets. The project responds to the upcoming “Municipal Solid Waste charging policy” and “Producer Responsibility Schemes (Glass Beverage Containers)”.
The exhibition raises awareness in the Wan Chai community by examining waste handling habits, promoting waste reduction and recycling. Our team worked with Social Design students from Hong Kong Polytechnic University to create graphs illustrating key waste issues in Wan Chai, including glass containers and paper cups. We will also use the Blue House waste recycle project as a case study.

Open Space Study for To Kwa Wan Community Dining Room「土瓜灣社區客廳」公共空間研究
The dining room provides a vital physical space for a family to mingle and connect with one another. It serves as a central hub where family members can gather, share meals, and engage in meaningful conversations. Whereas for To Kwa Wan, a giant family with about 180,000 family members, such a physical space is not just a luxury but a necessity that fosters community spirit and interaction. This communal area allows the community members to chill, talk, and share their lives, creating bonds that are essential for a thriving society. It is a place where stories are exchanged, laughter is shared, and relationships are strengthened.
Against the backdrop of diminishing average housing size and personal space, the need for quality public spaces as social nodes is further amplified. These spaces not only provide a refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life but also encourage social interactions that are crucial for emotional well-being and community cohesion.
